A week off and what better to do than spend this in the north west of Scotland. Plockton, Isle of Skye and Perthshire, Loch Tay.

For trip off the beaten track – turn off for Moll on the A87 after Broadford, before you reach Sligachan, well worth the extra 20 minutes and the slow drive

Now, this is a campsite with a view. If this view would not make you wish to stay, maybe the Sligachan Hotel, Seumas Bar, only 5 minutes walk away would help, they have a grand selection of over 380 different Scotch Whiskies…

The stunning, yet fearsome, Cuillin Hills, http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/skye/cuillin.shtml “The Black Cuillin are the most spectacular and challenging mountains in Britain” lay only a few miles from our site and we managed to ‘bag’ our first Munro ‘Bruach na Frithe’ a few days later.

Next morning it was up early and we then went to Elgol for an outing on the ‘Misty Isle Boat trip’ which took us to Loch Coruisk which lies in the heart of the Cuillin hills, with local skipper Seumas Mackinnon. http://mistyisleboattrips.co.uk/
