I had the pleasure of attending Edinburgh’s Torchlight Procession on Tue 30th Dec 2014, the beginning of the world’s biggest Hogmanay street party. As always the amazing Up Helly Aa’ Vikings were in attendance, along with 100 pipers and many thousand torchlight carriers. When I attended last year there was over 35,000 participants and spectators, this year there is likely to have been near to or more than 40,000.
The Torchlight Procession finale took place on Calton Hill, with yet another amazing fireworks display which could be seen across the city. Next up is the Hogmanay Street Party in Edinburgh on Wed 31st Dec and some Party it’s going to be!
It was great to also take part in the #Blogmanay event and meeting many of the international visitors and bloggers, these include, http://www.edinburghshogmanay.com/blogmanay
